The logistics industry is in the midst of a green transition, and at SR Group we take this seriously. Now we are taking a new, important step: We are hiring a dedicated sustainability advisor.
SR Group has been a key player in Norwegian logistics for over 40 years, and with that comes considerable responsibility. We have already taken many steps to reduce our environmental impact, but we know that this is not enough. If we are to help shape the transport industry of the future - and at the same time maintain our competitiveness - sustainability must be more than a buzz word. It must be an integral part of the way we work.
From green will to concrete action
In recent years, we have made several strategic investments related to the environment and climate. This includes everything from optimising transport solutions and better fleet management, to digitalisation and internal skills development. We are also committed to complying with relevant standards and work systematically with ISO 14001, among others.
But to really take the work forward, more heads and hands are needed. That's why we've created a new, dedicated sustainability advisor position. The position will be an important resource in our QHSSE team and will be responsible for developing, following up and strengthening our sustainability activities - both on a day-to-day and strategic level.
What does sustainability really mean in logistics?
For us, sustainability is about much more than CO₂ accounting. It's also about innovation, smart use of technology, good resource utilisation and not least - collaboration. Our customers expect us to be able to document our efforts, and our employees expect us to work responsibly.
The sustainability advisor plays a key role in this work:
- Understand how different parts of the business affect the environment and climate
- Connecting data and insights across systems
- To support both sales and operations in achieving our environmental goals
- And to ensure that we comply with national and international requirements
We are particularly looking for candidates who combine professional insight with the ability to drive processes - preferably with an interest in IT and data. Knowledge of standards such as ISO 14001, ESG reporting or similar is an advantage, but most important is the motivation to work purposefully and practically with sustainability in a complex organisation.
A future we build together
SR Group has offices in many parts of the country and consists of 15 operating companies that work closely together every day. We are 475 proud employees with shared values: helpful, honest and proud. Our vision is clear - we will be best in quality and service.
But if we are to succeed in sustainability too, we need more people on the team. And maybe it's you we're looking for?
Do you want to be part of something bigger?
The position of Sustainability Advisor is newly created and based at our head office in Risavika, Tananger. You will report to the QHSSE Manager and work closely with colleagues across the group.
